Hamlet has been regularly represented in puppets. In the theater, and since Sarah Bernard, the role has been more than once entrusted to women.
Jean Sclavis offers us a puppet version, in which the role of Hamlet is played by an English actress: a form that has already been used, but which focuses attention on the personal and family tragedy, and particularly on the destructive manipulation that the specter of the father exercises on Hamlet.

in this cryptic line, while evoking the game of love, Hamlet makes Ophelia feel that the characters of the court have become dolls that he will manipulate as he pleases: "I could be the interpreter between you and your lover if I could see your puppets move". But isn't Hamlet himself the puppet of his father's spectre, driven to revenge and manipulated to death?

A magnificent rereading of this play that has become a myth, with the ultimate question in the background: who is manipulating whom?
