  • The Conseil des Chevaux de Normandie, in partnership with Equi-ressources, invited artist Camille Reynaud to take a look at the relationship between women in the Normandy equine industry and their professions.
Using a photojournalistic approach, the artist followed these women in their daily lives to capture the essence of their know-how. The resulting work anchors women in reality, in the present, and reveals the place they occupy: heritage, knowledge, Cheval[es].

The Conseil des Chevaux de Normandie, in partnership with Equi-ressources, invited artist Camille Reynaud to take a look at the relationship between women in the Normandy equine industry and their professions.
Using a photojournalistic approach, the artist followed these women in their daily lives to capture the essence of their know-how. The resulting work anchors women in reality, in the present, and reveals the place they occupy: heritage, knowledge, Cheval[es].
The exchanges that fueled these encounters enabled Camille Reynaud to present a sensitive approach to photography, blending transparency and poetry. These poems reveal snippets of the women?s testimonies, the artist?s impressions, and anecdotes from the time of capture... all of which are keys to the viewer?s interpretation.
This work also aims to affirm the place of women in the equine industry, which is no longer the preserve of men. Indeed, it is important to note through this series that in the industry, all sectors combined, 58% of agricultural employees are women, i.e. more than half (source: Ifce-OESC after CCMSA 2019). These portraits illustrate the place of women of all ages in professions too often represented by men. These women don't just do one job, but show the versatility of their profession through perseverance and passion.

Discover the professions of the equine industry and the women who embody them through Camille Reynaud?s photographic exhibition Cheval[es] féminin et pluriel. It's an opportunity for young and old to discover the world of horses from an artistic and contemporary angle.

To coincide with the Equidays, take a look at the exhibition in Orbec town center, particularly in Rue Grande and Rue des Capucins, from Saturday October 21 to Wednesday October 25.
